We are all on a lifelong learning journey to discover and share our unique gifts with the world. It is the greatest journey we will ever make, and yet, so many of us are lost, afraid and filled with anxiety. We are all teachers and learners in life’s learning journey. So, where and how do we go off path? What role do we and others play in the experiences that unfold on this journey? What role can teachers in our lives play in creating a more clear path and supportive journey, especially in today’s current classroom climate of over-testing, bullying and pervasive toxic feelings and behaviors of “not enough”?
Through the spirit of passion or “I PASS ON”, the teacher in all of us is empowered to create true school spirit of learning that will make a difference in the life of a child, and ultimately, in the world!
This is the story of one teacher’s journey both in and out of the classroom and her spirit of passion that has guided and supported every step along her path. Her story is being shared for anyone who is dedicated to education and lifelong learning and who is seeking guidance, support and inspiration to take that next step on their own personal learning journey. Most importantly, this book is for all teachers, new and veteran, who feel disillusioned, uninspired and “off path” from their true calling of the heart as a teacher.
Linda’s story will take you from her learning experiences as a child, to that of a student to that of an educator with a career that spanned over 35 years until she got “lost”, and much like many educators today, left her beloved profession because she was too sick to carry on. After two years of therapies and working hard to gain back he strength, both physically and mentally, Linda decides to walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain. It is there that she learns that we are never really “lost” as she finds her way back to her true “school spirit”, her passion for learning and teaching, and, ultimately, her purpose in life.
